Registrations are now open for ESAB 2026 Conference, June 16-19 2026, Montpellier

CBS researchers are actively involved in organizing the 2nd ESAB (European South Atlantic Biophysics) conference, which will be held from June 17 to 19, 2026, at the Montpellier School of Chemistry. This scientific event is an initiative of the French, Spanish, and Portuguese biophysics societies and promotes international research in this constantly evolving field. It will be preceded by a day focused on young researchers at the Institute of Botanics on June 16, 2026.

Anjelica Kucinic awarded best poster at FNANO 2026

Anjelica, a postdoctoral researcher on Gaëtan Bellot team, presented her work at the 23rd annual Foundations of Nanoscience (FNANO) conference in Munich on March 16th- 18th 2026. FNANO conference is the leading international conferences in DNA origami. Anjelica presented her research on the design and assembly of DNA origami spheres and was awarded Best Poster, as voted by the International Society for Nanoscale Science, Computation, and Engineering (ISNSCE).

CNRS Year of Engineering

As part of the CNRS Year of Engineering, the CBS teams welcomed an STL Biotechnology class from Lycée Jean Mermoz (Montpellier) for two half-days. This gave the students the opportunity to discover two cutting-edge areas of research at the laboratory: Synthetic Biology and DNA Origamis. A rewarding exchange for everyone involved, from the students to the researchers! Thank you to Pauline, Ana, Julien(s), Anjelica, Aurélie, Gaëtan and Jérôme for their contribution, and to Katia Grucker from CNRS DR13 for organising the event.

Science-Art film project : Resonances

Inserm has launched a new « science & art » film project titled “Résonances”, produced by Exaltia and freely available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/DENx9CrsKOs

Exaltia: Résonances offers a cinematic experience that reveals Inserm’s research through a sensory and immersive narrative. By highlighting the work of Inserm scientists who capture these images, the film makes the infinitely small perceptible, giving form and presence to the building blocks of life within each cell.

As part of this initiative, the CBS team working on DNA origami has been invited to contribute visual material illustrating its research in design of programmable DNA-based molecular structures.
