MARS Biophotonics - R&D division

The main objective of MARS is to provide the scientific community with access to a selection of advanced microscopy technologies, generally not commercially available. In order to keep up with the latest developments in the microscopy community, we are continuously implementing state-of-the-art optical microscopy methods developed by the R&D teams of the FBI node hosted at CBS (Nollmann, Margeat, Milhiet teams). At the moment, a 3D STED setup, a Multi-Focus Microscope and a light-sheet microscope are under construction on our R&D facility. Stay tuned!

As our instruments are homemade, we also have the flexibility to adapt our current setups and analysis softwares to the specific needs of users (see examples below where instruments and analyses have been adapted to biological systems).

User requests are evaluated by the MARS Executive Committee according to project feasibility, and availability of engineers and instruments.
